Cheryl S. Johnson is the principal attorney in the law firm.  She primarily practices in Maryland estate planning, financial planning, estate administration, and asset protection consulting; developing custom planning solutions for each client.

Ms. Johnson completed her LL.M. degree (post-doctorate law degree) from Georgetown University Law Center in Taxation; with a Certificate in Estate Planning.  She earned her J.D. degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1994.  She also earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University; and Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and Computer Science from Towson University.

Ms. Johnson was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and has resided in Montgomery County, Maryland, for most of her life.  Ms. Johnson is admitted to practice in Maryland and Washington, DC.  She is a member of the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Volunteer and Community Activities
 
Ms. Johnson serves on the Advisory Board of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) Representative Payee Program administered through the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, Maryland.  The Representative Payee Program promotes the goal of independence for persons who otherwise might be vulnerable to financial exploitation or neglect.
 
Ms. Johnson also has served as a Volunteer Mediator for the Human Relations Commission of Montgomery County, Maryland.  In that capacity, Ms. Johnson assisted parties in disputes over alleged human rights violations or potential discriminatory practices to resolve their differences out of court.




 

Karen, Senior Paralegal

Karen is the firm's Senior Paralegal for Estate Administration.  Karen has been a practicing paralegal for more than 30 years and has worked in probate and estate administration in Maryland for more than 14 years.  Karen assists our Clients through the challenging and often complex process of Maryland probate and estate and trust administration.  She helps guide the estate's Personal Representative and Trustees in their fiduciary duties in administering the estate and helps prepare financial accounting reports for tax preparation and for the Register of Wills.



 

Carol, Director of Client Relations 

Carol is the firm's Director of Client Relations.  Carol is in charge of the administrative functions of the office, assisting clients with documents, trust funding, scheduling appointments, and ensuring that the client experience is exceptional.
