At Sellers Johnson Law, there are many strategies that we explore and implement to reduce or eliminate the possibility of our clients' estates paying federal estate taxes or Maryland estate taxes. We offer a strategic assessment of our clients' estates during our estate planning process. During this strategic estate plan assessment, we analyze whether and to what extent our clients' estates may be subject to federal estate taxes or Maryland estate taxes.  We also review the impact of estate-related income taxes, other transfer taxes, and Maryland inheritance taxes.  During this review, we suggest strategies to properly allocate assets to reduce or eliminate Maryland inheritance tax and other taxes, where possible.

Sellers Johnson Law provides this Estate Tax Calculator as an educational tool to assist clients in understanding the calculation of Federal Estate Taxes and Maryland Estate Taxes, based on variables provided by the client. It does not take all factors into consideration  and the Estate Tax Calculator should not be relied upon as legal advice or to determine an estate's tax liability. Clients should seek the advice of a competent attorney to d etermine whether and how much estate tax liability may be applicable in specific situations. Note that in addition to estate taxes, an estate in Maryland may be subject to Maryland Inheritance Tax, federal and Maryland income taxes, and other liabilities.
